Hop & Spice is the brainchild of Bahi Sivalingam, who was raised in the UK, but whose parents remained faithful to the Sri Lankan cuisine they grew up with.
‘Opening Hop & Spice is the realisation of a dream for me, and I’m really looking forward to welcoming people here and introducing them to the cooking that I know and love’ says Bahi.
‘We’ve put together a menu that has something for everyone, whether you’re a hot and spicy person or prefer something mild and delicate. We’ve got a menu that should suit everyone, lots of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. We’re really proud of our mixed ‘Thali’ plates, a style of eating that has been a feature of Sri Lankan cuisine for hundreds of years.’
The specialist beer menu is a league above that of the familiar Indian offering, with a number of specially selected quality beers available to complement the Sri Lankan cuisine.
